Beaver Creek is very accessible either by car or air.  Most people arrive by car, that way you have more flexibility once you are here.

Realizing that many of our volunteers arrive from out of state, or out of country, you have two choices for airports, both excellent.  The “Vail” airport is Eagle County Region Airport (EGE) and is located in Eagle, CO., about a 1/2 hour drive to Beaver Creek.  Unfortunately, this time of year service is limited to connector flights from Denver via United, or direct flights on American via Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW).  The major hub airpot is Denver International Airport (DEN).  This is a hub city for United, Southwest, and Frontier and offers direct flights from just about everywhere.  Airfares to DEN tend to be cheaper because there is a lot more competition.  It is about a 2-1/2 to 3 hour drive from DEN to Beaver Creek.  The only possible drawback is road conditions on I-70 over the passes.  The highway department does an excellent job of keeping this road open, but there are times when mother nature wins.

If you are arriving by air you have two choices for your ground transportation.  Both airports have a full selection of rental car agencies. If you won’t be needing a car once you get here, Colorado Mountain Express, which is owned by Vail Resorts, is absolutely the way to go.  They run a fleet of Sprinter vans that are very comfortable and have well trained professional drives.  They pick you up curbside at DEN and EGE and drop you off right at your door in a timely manner.  They have been very generous in offering all Talon Crew members employee pricing, which is 50% off.  You need to use a special link to receive the discount and that link will be published in the newsletters.  Everyone tends to leave at the same time, so make sure you get a reservation.

Both Uber and Lyft now offer service in the Vail Valley but check their app for availability that time of year.

One option to consider if you don’t want the expense of a rental car is to stay in Avon.  Avon is right at the base of Beaver Creek and the grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, and the Elk Lot bus stop are all within an easy walk.
